The Kia PV5 redefines space and mobility with the unveiling of its exterior design ahead of its world premiere.

By nature highly diversified, all PV5 models share consistent design values, a strong and bold look, as well as a confident functional attitude.
More details about the configurations, conversions, and product offerings of the PV5 will be revealed during the upcoming Kia EV Day 2025.
Kia Corporation today unveiled the exterior design of its PV5 Passenger and PV5 Cargo models ahead of the second edition of Kia EV Day, which will take place in Tarragona, Spain, later this month.
Presented as a preview in the form of the PV5 Concept at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2024 as well as at the latest car show in Brussels, the PV5 is the first model to be launched as part of Kia's new global strategy, Platform Beyond Vehicle (PBV).
Designed to redefine the concepts of space and mobility, the PV5 will build on Kia's cutting-edge technology in electric vehicles and meet the diverse needs of a wide range of customers through unprecedented flexibility and customization offered by its innovative modular approach.
Kia will offer the PV5 in several configurations, including the base models:
The"Passenger Van", designed for passenger transport"
The"Cargo Van", optimized for the transportation of goods"
Other variations and converted (specialized) versions will be unveiled during the Kia EV Day 2025.
The contemporary design of the Kia PV5 transcends traditional light utility vehicles, adopting a new aesthetic that emphasizes flexibility and customization through a modular approach.
"Although the PV5 is available in two different body styles to meet the various needs of customers, all embody the same design values, inspired by our 'Opposites United' philosophy," explains Karim Habib, Kia's Head of Global Design. "Each model confidently displays a strong, bold, and futuristic character, as well as a highly functional attitude."
Design philosophy of the Kia PV5 and main features
From the front view, the PV5 Passenger Van and PV5 Cargo Van models have a similar appearance. Each version stands out for its bold and futuristic character, enhanced by a sleek upper part.
The signature technical lighting seamlessly integrates into the vehicle's A-pillar, while the overall design embodies the 'Opposites United' philosophy, combining a sleek upper body with a rugged and technical lower part.
The geometric black wheel arches and lower body of the PV5 give it an ultra-functional, almost off-road look, while its sleek profile showcases how Kia's PBV technology redefines space and mobility. The corners of the sturdy lower bumper are interchangeable, providing both aesthetic and protective functions.
Design of the Kia PV5 Passenger Van
The clean geometric profile of the PV5 Passenger Van continues this contemporary approach and ensures excellent visibility thanks to a generous glazed area, made possible by a lowered waistline. All windows are framed by distinctive black surrounds, creating a striking contrast with the body color.
The geometric black wheel arches and side sills ensure continuity with Kia's SUV range and enhance the impression of sturdiness by visually connecting the high-tech cabin to a more functional and assertive base.
The bold signature lighting and elegant black accents on the main optical blocks enhance the modernism of my PV5, while the side separation line reinforces its geometric silhouette and robust look.
At the back, the PV5 Passenger Van highlights the robust and modern character of the PBV, displaying a functional and rational design. The softened line of the D-pillar accentuates the volume of the vehicle, while the one-piece rear tailgate rises above a sturdy bumper, echoing the protective elements present at the front.
The body color extends uniformly along the sides and rear of the vehicle, enhancing the horizontal design and providing a smooth visual continuity.
Design of the Kia PV5 Cargo Van
If the profile of the PV5 Cargo Van follows the same geometric design as the PV5 Passenger Van, its volume is more square.
Reflecting a concern for maximum space optimization. Its sleek and modern design, where each element is organized with precision, sets it apart from traditional light commercial vehicles.
A major difference lies in the integration of double rear doors, which offer optimal practicality and access.
Simplified for loading and unloading.
The rear of the vehicle adopts the same clean stylistic language as the sides, enhancing its modern and robust appearance.
This approach optimizes loading capacity and provides a sense of increased space.
