The Autopolis Story

Three decades of innovation and passion

The early years: the birth of an ambition

It all started in 1995, when the Belgian group Alcopa acquired the Volvo dealership located in Hamm, Luxembourg. This site, then called "Scancar," laid the foundation for what would become one of the largest players in the Luxembourg automotive market.

Under the direction of Ed Goedert, the small organization quickly grows. The initial commercial successes lead to a need for expansion.

In 2001, Autopolis officially came into existence with the opening of its iconic showroom in Bertrange.

This site quickly becomes the heart of the company, a space of over 24,000 square meters that embodies Autopolis' multi-brand vision.

The momentum of growth: diversification and consolidation

The 2000s mark a strategic turning point with the arrival of new brands such as Opel, which allows Autopolis to strengthen its presence in the "mainstream" segment, while complementing its premium offer already provided by Volvo.

In parallel, European reforms are paving the way for the creation of multi-brand concessions. Autopolis seizes this opportunity and quickly expands its portfolio, attracting brands as diverse as Fiat, Jeep, Chevrolet, and Cadillac.

Marc Devillet joined the company at the beginning of the project and took over as CEO in 2014. With his leadership, Autopolis continues its development while consolidating its achievements.

Expansion and challenges!

Faced with increased competition and rapid changes in the automotive sector, Autopolis continues to innovate. The group is gradually incorporating electric and hybrid models into its range, thus meeting the evolving expectations of consumers.

In 2020, Autopolis joins the Van Mossel Automotive Group, one of the largest automotive distributors in Europe. This integration strengthens the group's resources in Luxembourg and opens up new growth opportunities. Two new dealerships are being established, in Esch-sur-Alzette in 2022 and in Niederkorn in 2023.

With more than 10,000 vehicles sold per year, including 40% electric ones, Autopolis maintains its position as a leader in the national market.
